Memphis, Tennessee is famous for being the home of Graceland and of The King himself. Well, being named after Elvis’s hometown is fitting because our Memphis may be nothin’ but a hound dog, but he’s also a hunka hunka burning love!! Here’s what some of his volunteer pals have said about him:
“Today Memphis met me at the kennel door, tail wagging. He kept four feet on the floor as I leashed him from outside the door. He went potty right away and enjoyed sniffing lots of smells. A good boy!”
“Memphis is a strong boy but walks nicely once you get out of kennel and get moving. Very treat- motivated and takes treats gently and sits nicely without being asked. He noticed other dogs but didn’t react. He’s a big, squishy lovebug. He rests his head on your lap to get pet behind the ears and likes belly rubs.”
“Memphis is a joyful and social guy who loves to greet everybody happily. He knows sit and shake and has adorable, dappled, freckles on his nose. He explores the yard calmly during his playtime. He’s a handsome blockhead with enough love for everyone.”
“Memphis is so handsome and so sweet! Very treat motivated and sat perfectly for treats many times. He also enjoyed getting neck and face rubs whenever I would offer them. I always love spending time with him - I think he would make a great snuggle buddy.”
“I love Memphis, he’s such a sweet boy. He usually goes to playgroup, but I wanted to walk him today so he could get out and about and explore. He listened well to my commands and was responsive to changes in leash pressure. In the park, I asked him to sit and he did so perfectly. He had the CUTEST smile on his face and was so ready for a treat. He took the treat nicely from my hand like a good boy. He accepted lots of scratches and neck rubs too.”
Memphis spent a few weeks in a foster home where he was a quiet houseguest. He was housebroken, learned to use a doggy door, and enjoyed playing with balls and stuffed toys. His foster described him as friendly and full of energy, and said that he loves belly rubs and flops onto his back when he wants attention.
When meeting other dogs in playgroup Memphis was social, tolerant, and easygoing. He’s looking for a home without small dogs or other small pets like cats. Throw on your blue suede shoes and head to PACC to meet Memphis today!!
