My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Collette is available for local adoption or adoption and transport to another state. There are not enough homes for all the unwanted dogs down there, so she is willing to relocate for a good, loving, forever home.
Collette was a young puppy running the streets in a small coastal community. A nice lady rescued her and cared for her until we had room to take her into our rescue. Collette is an American Staffordshire terrier - probably a mix - going on two years of age and weighing around 60 pounds. She grew up around cats, children, and other dogs - so she is good with all of them. Collette is a very sweet and submissive girl. She is crate trained but is good in the house that we no longer crate her. She is house-trained, but we have seen her use a pee pad on occasion. She does not climb fences - and would not even climb out of a 3-foot puppy pen. But she did figure out how to go under it. Collette loves playing with toys and other dogs. She is even good with small dogs. Collette is normally at the bottom of the puppy pile and we have to make sure that the other dogs are not being too rough with her. Collette is a typical wiggly butt pibble. She is sweet and submissive and just wants to be loved. But doesn't realize her size, so she can be a bit of a bruiser. She is a bit stubborn and could use additional obedience training. Collette will sit for treats, walks well on a leash, and rides well in a vehicle. She also obeys fairly well and comes when called. Collette must be in the house as a loved member of the family. She must be walked on a leash and would like a large fenced yard to run and play.
Collette is healthy. She is spayed, fully vaccinated (DAPPvL2, Bordatella, rabies), and microchipped. She is negative for heartworms and receives monthly heartworm and flea prevention. We would really love Collette to have a fabulous forever home and we will consider both local and out-of-state applications. Her out-of-state adoption fee includes the cost of ground transport, and she can be transported almost anywhere within the continental United States. Collette is being fostered in Texas and cannot be transported until after she is adopted. Please send an email to 2manydogstx@gmail.com if you are interested in adopting this very wonderful dog.
