If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website www.wiseanimalrescue.org/adoption-application!

*PLEASE READ BEFORE PROCEEDING WITH AN ADOPTION APPLICATION*

- Due to factors beyond our control, transport costs for many of the pups we have been rescuing have had much higher transport costs than what we have been accustomed to - costs for health certificates and medical + transport for each dog with no allowances for shared crates were $335 per dog. With these factors taken into account, as well as the care needs for many of the pups, we need to request a donation above our normal request. We are asking for a donation of $850 from each adopter. The same $600 will be used to support our program and the additional $250 will be used toward the cost of transport for pups we have saved from the puppy mills. We appreciate the understanding of our potential adopters. Please keep this in mind prior to applying.

- ONE application per household. We will only consider your family for one of our available puppies so please apply for only one.

Name: Skip

Breed: Sheltie x Rat Terrier mix

Age: 12 weeks

Gender: male

Home Recommendation: Skip is very young and is looking for an home who is home more often than not to spend time playing and training him. We'd prefer he go into a home with another adult dog to show him the ropes. He will be active as an adult so he will need a home that will be able to give him daily exercise!

Personality: Skip will make your heart skip a beat! He is a love bug and adores being the center of attention. He is very playful and spunky, He loves running around the backyard and exploring new places. He and his foster brother wrestle and chase all day long! He can be timid at first greeting, but within minutes he warms up and will show you his big personality!

Kids: 10+

Dogs: Yes! He loves other dogs.

Cats: Unknown

Crate Trained: working on it! He usually will cry for 10-20 minutes but then settles down and does great.

House Trained: working on it! He gets let outside frequently

Training: As he is very young, his forever home must be experienced and ready to put him through training so he can become the well-behaved adult we know he can be! He has never walked on a leash before and is getting used to it with practice! He is very treat motivated and aims to please.

Why did he come to WISE? Skip was rejected by a pet shop and was to be returned to the mill where he was destined to be destroyed. WISE wasn't going to let that happen and took him into our program.
