Poblano has spent 7 months at the shelter before we rescued him and has been in VA boarding for 2 more months before we got him into a foster home on 11/02. Poblano is a great dog; it is quite heartbreaking to see him go unwanted for nearly a year. Poblano is 2-3yo, HW+ and being treated by SSR. He has been in a kennel since March and prior to that, based on his fears, has probably lived on the streets his whole life. Poblano is a scaredy-cat with just about everything, but underneath his fear lies the most calm, sweet, gentle soul. Poblano has zero fear aggression, is super friendly, and likes to greet you with tail wags. He is shy but learning to be more confident with the help of his two foster siblings and learning how to behave in a house. Poblano is coming out of his shell and showing us his playful and goofy side. He enjoys playing with toys and going for walks. He gets scared by loud noises, which makes him want to flee, so any adopter must be vigilant. He is crate trained, housebroken, does well in a car, does not jump up, and not vocal. Poblano likes to get lots of pets, take naps on his dog bed, and cuddle up with you on the couch. He is starting to show more of his sweet personality, like his goofy wiggle butt. He would do best in a quieter home with lots of love to give and a fur sibling or two. With a little bit of time, patience, routine in a home, and perhaps a fur sibling to show him the ropes, this boy is going to make a wonderful companion. Please reach out to your caseworker or fill out an application if you would like to help this sweet creature enjoy the best life he so deserves.
