My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hazel, formerly Sojo, is back through no fault of her own. This lovely and energetic girl spent the first 7 years of her life as a breeder in a puppy mill. After her emancipation, she was adopted by a loving family with 2 dogs and got along
fine at first. But after a while, one of her canine companions, a senior who had become reactive to other dogs, decided he didn’t want to live with her.
Despite great effort, Hazel's adopters made the heartwrenching decision to do what was best for Hazel as well as their senior dog and relinquished her back to us. The family stressed that this was instigated by their older dog and not Hazel who gets along wonderfully with their other dog in the house and cohabitates well with her foster brother and sister. She is energetic and interested in life. She loves playing with dogs, bones, companionship, and love. Hazel walks well on a leash. She is mostly housetrained, with few accidents during a transition. She can be timid upon approach sometimes, but much less than when she came from the commercial breeder that initially relinquished her. She will come to you
readily on her own terms. She is affectionate with people once she feels safe.
She has gone scootering a couple of times and is getting the hang of it. She pulls well when not distracted.
Hazel is excited to see the world and is looking for a new home with lots of love, patience, and understanding. She would love to sleep on a dog bed next to your bed (or on your bed, though she can be a bit of a bed hog!).
She is healthy, fully vaccinated, and spayed. She has a beautiful coat and her bi-eyes (two different colored eyes) accentuate her curiosity about the world around her. She has lots of energy and will make a wonderful companion.
