My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Charlee was found as a stray, wandering along the water near some visitor cottages on the island of Great Exuma, Bahamas. She had a wound on the back of her neck from a collar that she outgrew after her family left her to fend for herself, and she tested heartworm positive. We took her into foster care, had her vaccines updated, and treated her heartworms. She now gets her monthly Heartgard and Nexgard, and is quite content to play with her foster sibling Flo.

More about this rescue

We are a US 501(c)3 charity that aims to reduce suffering for neglected and helpless animals on the Island of Exuma, Bahamas. We are a rescue organization that takes in and medically and comprehensively cares for many stray or abandoned animals on Exuma. We diligently find them good forever homes on Exuma, in the US and Canada. We carry many strays to be spayed/neutered, and have a feeding program for many island strays. We try to provide flea/tick meds for severe cases. Grants are also available for Bahamians with pets in need of emergency surgeries that would not be affordable without our assistance.
We strive to provide education regarding responsible and humane treatment of pets and strays, including the need to sterilize to keep the population under control.
