Here's what the humans have to say about me:
***NEEDS FOSTER or FUREVER HOME***
Currently in Boise boarding kennels
HEIDI is a healthy 3 year-old German Shepherd on the smaller size. She will bond quickly with her people to be one loyal dog. She is more comfortable with women, but is learning that not all men are scary. Once HEIDI warms up to her people, she will always try to keep you in eyesight and want to be with you.💙
HEIDI likes to snuggle and will lie on top of you and fall asleep. HEIDI is smart, learns quickly, she is easy to correct on leash, and loves car rides!
HEIDI absolutely loves fetch..it's exercise for her (see videos). She has learned to sit before the ball is thrown and she retrieves it. Sometimes she plays keep away, as she is still a young pup, but does listen sometimes to “drop it.”
HEIDI can sit, shake, and lie down on command. She loves playing in water, and would make a great running partner!
HEIDI is house-trained and crate trained, doesn’t bark, and is bell-trained. Once comfortable with her people, HEIDI will be a typical puppy and will need to burn off her energy. Finding a job for HEIDI will be best. HEIDI has the makings of a great companion dog for a PTSD veteran.
HEIDI is dog-friendly, and could do fine with smaller dogs; proper introductions are always best! HEIDI enjoys off-leash playgroups at her boarding/daycare facility. She has done really well with dogs that are dog-friendly and submissive and has gotten a lot better with more socializing; she’s improving every time! HEIDI is too interested in cats, so a cat-free home is best for this girl.
HEIDI will do best in an active, experienced home with a confident, and calm owner who can provide daily exercise for her. HEIDI will thrive with routine. With continued training, patience, and love, HEIDI can be the best dog. A home without small kids (she can be timid and may have too much energy) is also needed.
HEIDI's bed, grooming tools, treats, toys, bells for the doors, leashes, and collars will go with her to her furever home.

BACKGROUND: HEIDI was abandoned in boarding by the only family that she knew. After several months of trying to get her family to pick her up, she was rescued by FFAR. Unfortunately, she remained in boarding for many months. HEIDI has been in a few foster homes.
