Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Lucy is a beautiful two-year-old spayed female Border Collie/Golden Retriever Mix. She is current on her vaccinations. She is well-behaved and has wonderful house manners. Lucy loves to play and cuddle. She is great in the house and does not get into things when left alone. She is very clever and a quick learner. She might enjoy a sport like agility, rally, or herding but an athletic home would also be a good match. She will make a loving companion for someone who is looking for that slightly mellower version of a Border Collie or a smaller, more vibrant “painted” Golden. A somewhat rural setting with walks in less crowded areas would be best.
We are looking for a family that is ready to work with her on her special needs.
• She is afraid of new faces at first but warms up in a short while and never forgets the people she meets.
• She needs a home where people are aware of her needs and are willing to work with her through training and exposure.
• Dog parks are too overwhelming for her. Time and training will help her overcome her hesitancy with strangers.
• No cats or birds.
NGRR is willing to provide six training sessions to kickstart her success.
If you think you might be the right fit for Lucy, email Norcal Golden Retriever Rescue at info@ngrr.org. An NGRR volunteer will get back to you.
