My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Captain is calm, cool, and collected--like any good captain should be! Under a ton of fluffy fur (he will need brushing every day, which he loves!) is a big love bug who wants nothing more than to share life with his people. He’s a middle-aged boy who has certainly embraced the recliner lifestyle (picture him in his study puffing away on a pipe, idly flipping through a newspaper) but he still loves to play with his string toy. Captain adores shoes! He likes to sit on them, rub his face on them, and hide behind them hunting his string. Sandals are particularly fun because he can stick his paws through the holes! Captain has a kind and loving spirit. He’s not much for laps (that could change, just not so far!) or being picked up for long periods, but he loves to lounge near you and be involved in your activities. He purrs with his whole heart so you can hear him across the room! He’s very intelligent and will gently tell you his boundaries. If you look up “good boy” in the dictionary, Captain’s picture will be there. Due to his chill nature, Captain would do best in a quiet home. He should do well with respectful, cat savvy kids 10+ years and we expect him to get along with other cats based on his brief interactions with the foster home’s cats, given a proper introduction. We haven’t seen him around dogs, but a calm, cat-friendly dog should work with Captain’s purrsonality!

Captain was born approximately January 1, 2011, and his adoption fee is $125, or adopt two and the second is half off. He is neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations and deworming, is microchipped, and tested negative for feline leukemia virus. Come see this sweetheart at our adoption center this weekend!
