Additional adoption info

Those interested in adopting are encouraged to come to our shelter and meet our pets. Once you find a pet, you will need to fill out an Adoption Application. In order for an application to be approved we require: a meet and greet with all 2 & 4 legged members of the family; all current pets must be current on vaccinations; proof of home ownership or landlord approval to have a pet; must be in good standing with your local humane society. There is no fee to apply. We ask applicants to give us 24 hours to approve their application.
Once your application is approved, you will be required to sign an Adoption Contract. We believe pets are meant to live indoors with their families - we do not adopt to those wishing to keep their pet outside. There is no application fee.
Dog adoptions are $100 and include shots, deworming, heartworm test and microchip. Cat adoptions are "Name Your Donation" and include shots, deworming, and FIV/FeLK test. All of our pets are spayed or neutered. The fee for special needs & senior pets is waived.

More about this shelter

The Humane Society of Noble County, Inc. was incorporated January 10, 1985. We are a 501 (C)(3) non-profit organization serving the Noble County community. We serve around 1,200 stray, unwanted and abandoned pets every year.
Mission Statement: The purpose of the HSNC, Inc. is to provide an essential community service by focusing on the prevention of cruelty to animals through humane education; to provide humane care and treatment for all animals needing protection in the area served by the Society; to seek to return lost animals to their owners; to seek suitable homes for animals without owners; to provide euthanasia when necessary. In its care and disposition of animals, the Society shall maintain the minimum standards prescribed by The Humane Society of the United States.
We are a small staff that oversees the daily needs of hundreds of pets. We love and nurture each animal as if it were our own. We strive to make each pet's stay with us as comfortable as possible and we believe there is more to shelter life than a few cement walls. Dogs and cats both are socialized on a daily basis and receive regular baths, grooming and lots of TLC. Because of our limited funds and small staff, we rely heavily on donations and the assistance of volunteers.
