My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I am just a big hunk who wants to snuggle! I love being around people and getting lots of pets and love, especially tummy pets. I think getting my face and cheeks brushed is the best. I like catnip toys and will sometimes play with other toys or get the zoomies, but I am mostly a chill guy who just wants to lounge on your lap, eat snacks, and get loved on.

I am nervous at first, but warm up quickly when I know I am safe. I like people of all ages, but small kids might scare me a little because of how fast they move and the loud sounds they can make but I will adjust to them. I do not like other cats very much, but if you would like two kitties, I can be adopted alone or with my sister Vanessa. She and I are not besties, but we co-exist well and I guess I can deal with her. I have not been around dogs before.

I do have a condition called nystagmus, which is a neurological condition that makes my pretty blue eyes and head wiggle a little sometimes, but it does not cause me pain or require treatment. Additional adoption info

Since we make a lifetime commitment to any animal that comes into our program, we only adopt out animals to people in our area..

If you are interested in adopting a CAWS cat or dog, please fill out the online application at http://www.caws.org/application/, email adopt@caws.org or call 328-4731. For the most timely response applying online is recommended.

We respond as quickly as possible but as we are a volunteer based organization and do not have full time staff, we respond as quickly as possible.

Go meet their pets

CAWS does not have a conventional shelter facility - all CAWS animals waiting for adoption are in foster homes. The number of animals we can help find new homes for is closely linked to how many CAWS foster homes are available. For additional information regarding how you, too, can become a foster, please see our fostering page located on our web site!

CAWS volunteers bring cats and dogs to the PetSmart near 2100 South and 300 West in South Salt Lake on the third and fourth weekends of each month

We are also at the Sugarhouse PETCO (1165 Wilmington Ave) the first Saturday of each month.
