Amanda, (estimated at 10 years old or under), came to us from a herific hoarding case where the shelter rescued 46 dogs when the owner passed away. Paws for Seniors took in 7 seniors including Amanda. To our surprise, all were very friendly and just wanted that love and individual attention. Amanda is a little shy and takes a little time for her to adjust to a new environment and new people. She is shy but not skiddish; once in your arms, or sitting next to you on the couch, she relaxes. Amanda is a 15 pound, Shih-Tzu who is very cute, and gets along with other dogs and cats and older children. She is up to date on her Distemper and Rabies vaccination, microchipped, and resently had a dental and spay. She is totally house trained and she sleeps in a play pen at night. We think she would actually like to sleep in your bed or close by on a cushy dog bed. Although she does not seem to be bonded with any other dogs, she does sleep and hangs out with Molina, another Shih-Tzu/Yorkie mix that came from the same situation. Now that we have addressed her medical needs; Amanda says she is seeking a home where she can be a loving family member and forget about her past. She says it would be great if she had another dog about her size and age to hang out with and keep her company. Amanda would require a secure fenced yard as she is slightly shy and may be a flight risk or wander.
