If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website www.wiseanimalrescue.org/adoption-application!

*PLEASE READ BEFORE PROCEEDING WITH AN ADOPTION APPLICATION*

Due to factors beyond our control, transport costs for our Puppy Mill survivors are much higher than what we have been accustomed to - costs for health certificates and medical + transport for each dog with no allowances for shared crates. With these factors taken into account, as well as the care needs for all of the animals in our adoption program, we need to request a donation above our normal request. Depending which dog you are applying for, we are looking for adopters to support our program with a donation in the range of $450- $850 from each adopter. $250 of that donation will be used toward the cost of transport. We appreciate the understanding of our potential adopters. Please keep this in mind prior to applying.

- ONE application per household. We will only consider your family for one of our available puppies so please apply for only one.

Name: Captain

Breed: Cocker Spaniel

Age: 1 years 9 months

Gender: male

Home Recommendation: Captain is looking for an home who is home more often than not to spend time playing and training him. He is a bit on the shyer side so a quiet, loving home where he can get comfortable is best. We'd prefer he go into a home with another dog to show him the ropes.

Personality: Captain is a shy, cuddly guy who can't wait to snuggle up with his forever family! He loves to play with other dogs and really comes out of his shell around them.

Kids: 13+

Dogs: Yes! He loves other dogs and would do best in a home with another dog

Cats: Unknown, we can cat-test for an approved adopter!

Crate Trained: Captain is not being crate trained at this time

House Trained: Working on it!

Training: Captain spent his entire life in a cage used over and over again for breeding. He received no love or care and needs confidence building and basic training. He will reward you with his whole heart!

Why did he come to WISE? WISE recently rescued a group of dogs who were throw aways from an Amish breeding puppy mill. When the "breeder" decided that the dogs were no longer needed for breeding, he planned to euthanize them. WISE stepped up to rescue them.
