My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! My name is Gilbert and I am young (6-8 month) old mini Australian shepherd. I was picked up as a stray by a rural Utah shelter and no one came to claim me, which I really can't understand because I'm very fluffy and cute! I can be shy when you first meet me and it takes me awhile to warm up to new people. But, once I feel comfortable with you, I really enjoy getting pets and cuddles. With dogs its a completely different story. I LOVE other dogs. In fact, other dogs really help me with my confidence and make me feel more comfortable around people. For these reasons, I absolutely need to have at least one other playful, friendly dog in my furever home (more would be even better). I love to play and run around the yard and act like a silly goofball with my four-legged foster brother and sister. I am still learning not to be afraid of the leash; so a fully fenced back yard is a necessity in my furever home. My potty training is going pretty well, and I sleep through the night in the crate with my foster brother who is my very best friend. Small/young kids scare me with their loud noises and fast movements, so a home with no kids or older (>10 yr), dog savvy kids would be best. I am neutered and up-to-date on my vaccinations.
