My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Penguin, nickname Guin, is a sweet guy who just wants to take it easy. As cautious as this lad may be, a lot of your interactions will be on his terms, like most new friendships it'll take Guin a little bit to warm up (I mean hey do you jump right into your shower when you turn the water on or do you let it warm up?)

Guin very much enjoys the company of other cat friends, and looks to them for reassurance. He would be best suited for a quiet home with people who want the company of a gentle cat without the cuddles.

Penguin loves to be pampered with his nightly brushings, hanging round the bend with kitty friends, and he is a full out foodie (someone get this cat some wet food and kibble!). Although he's a little more on the cautious side, he can often be found playing with his favorite fish toy in the bright beams of the sun. Ideally a window perch would be this guys best pal, allowing him to escape when overstimulated.

Penguin does not like being picked up so people who will be respectful of his space/boundaries is a must. If you're lucky he may find his way over to your couch and enjoy your company from afar. Is your couch in need of a sweet potato?

More about this rescue

Puppy Kitty NYC was founded in the Fall of 2014. As of July 2018, we are an official 501(c)(3) organization. We focus on three aspects: First, finding homes for abandoned or friendly street cats and kittens. Secondly, attempting to control animal overpopulation by spaying and neutering feral cats and helping the sick and injured. Thirdly, fostering is a must.
