Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Lotus is the name of this beautiful orange and white Brittany. She is 5 years old, athletic dog, fit and healthy as can be! Lotus loves to play and run! One of her favorite things to do is play ball. She will chase the ball and bring it back to you every time. ( I make sure that she takes water brakes and to rest because she will go until she drops otherwise). Lotus is so much like a child she really needs you to set limits cause she will just go and go.
She is a very loving, wonderful dog and she makes me laugh with some of the things she does. She loves getting in the car and going to the beach. She will play in the sand and swim in the ocean (again you have to make sure she doesn't go out to far). Lotus does get along with other dogs, however I avoid the dog parks because she seems to react defensive when there. She is overprotective of the ball and does not enjoy large numbers of other dogs chasing her around. She does much better when she plays with one or two other dogs . ( my dog sitter has three dogs and she plays well with them). She will let them chase her and she seems to play and have fun. Lotus is fast ...like really fast and she loves to display it. She does listen to commands but sometimes she is just going to roam or chew something, like a kid you have to correct her and she gets better.
She loves to sleep in her crate, but come morning she wants out and she lets you know it . She is really smart and she will communicate with you how she feels, meaning it is easy to tell if she is happy or if she is sad . She has a kindness about her that I have never experienced in any other pet before. She will let me clean her ears, cut her nails and even give her a bath. She is extremely sweet and trusting. She is good with children who are old enough to stand their ground cause she does jump up and plays with much energy and she is good with other people too.
If she is inside she will bark at things outside anything that she sees or hears from outside which makes her a great watch dog. I know if anyone is anywhere around the house! Lotus lives with a cat and they play and chase each other and Lotus is always good to the cat, she seems to control her energy when she is playing with her.
She is full of life and her little body at times doesn't seem to be enough to house all the energy she has. She is only 32 pounds but she is a power house, she is solid and all muscle. She does not like being on a leash and will pull, but I do it even though she is stubborn about it. She is a Brittany and you have to love all that that means to love Lotus. If there is an animal in the yard she will track the smell and chase it, if there is a hole she will go in it with no fear. She does not like to be tied to a leash to sit outside, she will dig to show her frustration. She would rather sit next to me in the yard and she will relax. She loves a massage and she loves to curl herself up in a tiny ball and sit up against me at night. She is such a cutie !!!!
