My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Hi, my name is Winter. I was rescued from a car lot where I was living with my mom and siblings. Unfortunately, despite my rescuer's best efforts, she hasn't been able to catch the rest of my family so I entered rescue alone. I was really scared but I'm slowly learning to be brave with the help of my foster people. I still get nervous sometimes and might try to run, hide, or even let out a little hiss but it's all talk and my foster mom knows it... I am actually very gentle and sweet once I feel safe. I've gotten pretty comfortable around my foster mom and love when she rubs my chin and scratches my back... I even purr for her now! I also love when my foster grandma comes over and holds me... one night, I laid in her lap for almost 4 hours! I'm pretty mellow and don't play much but sometimes push the ball around on the ball track toy or bat at another toy... I'm starting to play a little more as I get comfortable in my foster home. Because I'm still a bit jumpy, I would do best in a home with no young kids... 10 and up would probably be okay. I get along good with other cats and might enjoy having another cat in the home to help me feel brave. I've even warmed up to the senior dog in my foster home and would probably do okay with a calm dog but young, energetic dogs are too much for me. My foster mom thinks I have a lot of potential to be a wonderful companion... likely a lap cat... once I feel comfortable in my forever home. I'll just need a little patience at first as I get used to a new environment. If you would like to meet Winter  please fill out an application on our website at www.adopthope.org. Winter's adoption fee is $100 . This covers his neuter, current vaccinations, FeLV test, and microchip.
