My story

Gals and pals, we got a smoke show on our hands over here.

Meet Skye, a stunning young lady that's a grade A head turner. I mean, those eyes! We think she's part Husky and Shepherd, possibly a touch of House-elf or White Walker, but 100% gorgeous no matter how you slice it. Skye came into rescue when she wandered right into her foster moms neighborhood. She came when called and is a friendly and good natured lady. She's on the shy side with other dogs, which one might expect from a pup that's been rolling solo mission for an unknown amount of time, but she's currently living with her foster mom's 3 resident dogs and doing great. When it comes to her 2 legged peeps, Skye is not afraid of down right hugging and sloppy wet kisses (back seat of a school bus headed to the 8th grade field trip, anyone?). We should mention Skye is a bit of a clinger. Not a stage 4 super clinger, but she definitely loves to be with her people. On her people is actually more preferable to her, and while she's not exactly lap dog sized, 55lbs is managable. She's on the slim side and is working on snacking more to gain a few pounds (sounds heavenly).

We think Skye would thrive in an active home where she gets plenty of affection and exercise. This dog love, loves, loves her people. She needs to build confidence with some loving guidance, and true to the breeds we're guessing she is, she's very active. Skye would love to be in a place with space to run and where her people are around often and want to include her in on their adventures. She's got her basic manners down pat, walks well on leash and loves co-piloting on car rides. She hasn't been kid or cat tested yet, but her sweet disposition with 2 leggers thus far leads us to believe she'll be great with kiddos, especially older ones that can help her gain confidence. We wouldn't roll the dice with kitties at this point though. Our sweet gal is ready to find her happy ending and is going to be an awesome best friend to a luck family. If Skye sounds like the perfect fit for you, read on to learn how to apply to bring her home.

Skye is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. This dog has tested ****** for heartworms. The adoption fee is $450 if your adoption is prepaid and final prior to your dog's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on dogs that are picked up from our Southbury CT adoption center, adopted at an event, or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368.

WANT TO MEET OUR DOGS IN PERSON? Check the Events tab on cprdogs.com for all weekend adoption event info. The majority of the dogs marked as 'meet me' will be there to see you!

If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at our Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05.

TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO www.cprdogs.com. If your application was successfully submitted you will get a confirmation. Please DO NOT USE the ADOPTAPET "CONTACT THIS RESCUE GROUP" form below or you may not hear from us as these often end up in spam or bouncing back.

After receipt of your application, an adoption counselor will then be in touch to answer your questions about this pup, discuss the adoption process and get the ball rolling! If you have not heard from one of our volunteers within 5 days of submitting your application, please email mollibo@gmail.com.

More about this rescue

CPR was formed in 2004 to assist unwanted pups and dogs with finding a new home. We rescue our pups from high kill shelters in TN and MS. Without the dedication of the staff and volunteers of these shelters and without the assistance of CPR, the pups posted on our website would not be rescued.
We also assist families with unwanted litters of pups by placing the pups and spaying their mommy dog to stop the cycle of unwanted puppies. When funds are available, we spay/neuter personally owned pets when asked for assistnce.
We rescue and rehome 200+ pups and dogs each month. We accomplish this task with the help of an awesome hard working and dedicated staff and volunteer base. Also helping us to accomplish what seems at times to be a thankless and overwhelming job is our pure and selfless love of dogs! We truly believe that rescue + rehoming = true love. <3
