Dakota is a protective, loyal and spunky English coonhound. She’s great with kids but takes her time getting used to new dogs and new adults, especially men. She is shy at first and uses a bark and growl to show she’s protecting herself and her humans. She is house trained, loves to run around outside exploring with her nose on the ground and loves attention. She may do best in a single dog home with a female as her main caregiver but it’s not a necessity. She needs an active family that has property or a large yard and would not do well in an apartment/townhouse setting. She may require multiple meetings with her new adoptive family before feeling comfortable going home with them. After a couple days she warms up and is the sweetest girl, she needs a patient and kind family. **Dakota requires a fenced yard
