My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

BUDDY is a 6 to 7-year-old terrier, who was found as a stray but never claimed by his owners. He spent a couple of years with his finder but due to his resource guarding – mainly with food, and his favorite people – he was turned over to us. Buddy was prescribed a lot of different medications for anxiety which we are weaning him off of to work on the root of the problem. We agree with the vet's assessment that Buddy needs his RDA of exercise, mental stimulation and training/boundaries.  We are looking for an active home, ideally one where he could go to work with his people and get lots and lots of walking. Although he looks like a Yorkie he has more of the personality of a Jack Russell terrier.  Buddy is active and athletic, approximately 20 pounds. Buddy has been neutered, vaccinated, tested negative for Heartworms and is microchipped. Adoption $200. If you are the family Buddy is looking for, please fill out an application at www.companimals.org prior to making an appointment to see him.

Go meet their pets

Our shelter has visiting hours - Wed through Sat from noon 'til 5 p.m. You're welcome anytime we're open.
Most our our dogs live in foster homes, and will likely not be at the shelter unless arrangements are made ahead of time.
We do hold monthly "Meet and Greets" at local pet stores, but here, as well, to meet a specific dog arrangements should be made in advance so that
your potential new best friend can be there waiting to meet you.

More about this rescue

CompAnimals Pet Rescue is a small not-for-profit "no kill" rescue. Our mission is to take in unwanted, abandoned or abused dogs, cats and other small pets; to place those we can in loving, permanent homes; and to provide a sanctuary for the animals whose age, health issues or temperament precludes them from adoption. Our dogs & cats are neutered, vaccinated and receive all necessary medical treatment beford being made available for adoption. Through our volunteers and outreach programs we educate the next generation about the importance of spay/neuter and giving a lifelong home to their pets. We hope to one day put ourselves out of business but until then we will continue to rescue regardless of breed, age or medical condition.
