Hi, my name is Jaxx and I am an Australian Shepherd/Rough Collie mix. After a rough outdoor puppyhood start, my foster mom and dad have put me on the path to a happy and healthy life.
I was born on November 24th, Thanksgiving 2022 along with seven siblings. I am now 15 weeks old, weigh 20 lbs. and have 3 rounds of my puppy vaccinations. I have stunning blue eyes (move over Frank Sinatra!), a distinct pink nose with cute black ditto marks and am a blue merle. I’ve inherited the Aussie butt wiggle and proud sway.
I am an outgoing, energetic, adventurous, and affectionate boy with a big aussie heart. I enjoy human approval and cuddles, like to lay by my people's feet especially when I encounter something new, follow my mom around the yard and puppy wrestle play with my brother. I love throwing myself into whatever is going on for playtime. I’ve learned a few tricks that I practice on my brother since we are fostered together.
I do like to hear myself talk, have a wide range of sounds I can make and have been known to mumble grumble in my puppy dreams.
I am learning all kinds of new things: my name, basic commands, how to handle my collar and walk on a leash, how to sleep through the night and what the outside grass is really for! I've even mastered the art of maneuvering adeptly up and down stairs of all types! And I'm proud to say I've readily adapted to our playpen as well as crate time for safely sleeping through the night. I am getting more accomplished at sitting nicely for a treat. I do love those treats!
I've had a great time socializing with my foster mom's eight-year-old female Aussie (Breeze) and lively one year old male, former ASF rescue foster fail (Sedley now Zed). We get along very well even though they are much bigger and faster than I am. I love to run after them, throw myself in the middle and do my best to get involved in their high-speed play. Sometimes they roll me like a bowling ball, but I jump right up and head back in to mix it up! I would love an energetic canine sister or brother. I will probably be a bit larger than the average aussie.
