My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rudy is a handsome Border Collie. If you are looking for an Agility dog he would be perfect. Recalls are great, and he just wants to be near his human. Bonds quickly. Loves to herd everything (typical border collie), and playing with balls. Does well on playdates so a submissive dog would be fine for him.
Does become very curious when he sees other dogs on his walks and wants to meet them.
Can become protective of his crate and food when another dog gets near it. Fine with his humans. Well out out of your hand gently, gives kisses and sit in your lap. No small children since he will herd them up and possibly knock them down when playing.
Fenced in yard and someone who is active to keep Rudy's mind and body busy would be the ideal friend/family.

Additional adoption info

Everyone fills out an adoption application where references are checked, home visits are preformed usually with the adoptable dog.We try and be fair when choosing an adoptive family for each dog in our care. Adoptions fees range from $250-$700 depending on age.

Go meet their pets

We attend rescue shows, markets and other events to help raise much needed funds and let people meet our adoptable puppies/dogs. They can also visit the dog at the foster home or when a home visit is conducted then they can meet the dog they are interested in.

More about this rescue

Spaniel Rescue was founded October 16, 2011. We primerely rescue spaniels but we will take in other small breed dogs whenever we can. I choose spaniels because l adopted a spaniel from a puppy mill when he was just 3 1/2 months old and almost died several times. It just seemed to be the right breed to start and rescue. Since l was a child l would bring home stray animals including a goose, snake, frogs, dogs, kittens, crow and other birds. It is just who l am and will continue doing this work with my final breath.
