Luciano was found as a stray in the High Desert of California before he landed himself in the shelter, then eventually into our care. He is essentially a giant, happy, fun-loving puppy! He does have some bratty, pushy behaviors though, and it’s clear he has never had any training. He is now working on his obedience, manners, impulse control, and leash walking skills, and has already made some progress!
Like almost all Neapolitan Mastiffs, Luciano's eyes require surgery for bilateral entropion, and he is also currently being treated for dry eye. He's already undergone his neuter and gastropexy surgeries, and he has his entropion repair surgery scheduled. He also had a couple of engorged ticks in his face and paw, but luckily, all his parasite tests came back clean, and overall, he is healthy.
Luciano is being fostered in Southern California.
Please submit a Family Profile application for this devastatingly handsome young man if you’re interested in giving him a forever home once he's recovered from his surgeries! He will need a breed-experienced home to keep up with his training and continue to provide him with lots of structure and boundaries. He is untested with other animals but has not shown reactivity toward other dogs on walks.
