My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Artemis is a new arrival from the Manhattan Animal Care Centers. She was brought in as a stray but we learned later that she was living with a family and they left her in the apartment when they were evicted and their former landlord brought her to the police station to abandon her. Artie was shut down and terrified in the shelter when we first met her. She was put on the list to be euthanized but luckily on her final day we were at the shelter and met her beforehand. We agreed to take her into our rescue even before we knew it was her only chance to leave the shelter alive and we are so glad we took a chance on that timid and terrified dog because the moment she left that environment she became completely different!

Artemis is now in a foster home and she is much more social, friendly and outgoing there! She has been nicknamed "Squirrely Girl" by her foster family because of how agile and fast she is when she gets excited. She loves toys and is solidly housebroken and crate trained. She is the most low maintenance foster we have seen in a long time! She came right in and made herself at home and we know she will do that for her forever home too!

Artemis is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines. We would prefer to place her as an only pet in a home without young children and for a family willing to take the same chance on her that we did we know you won't regret it! Apply to adopt her today at waywardranch.org!
