My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! My name is Zelda. They call me “Z” and a whole bunch of other funny names… I guess that’s one of the many cool things about having a deaf dog.... call me what you want.
.
.

I’m not really sure how I got here, but I settled in and found my way around real quickly! I love to go off and explore on my own, they don’t let me go anywhere unattended cause I’m still working on knowing where I’m allowed to go.
They take me outside A LOT and I LOVE being outdoors! I love to run really fast and I’m not afraid to explore EVERYTHING…. I would love to find a forever home with a really big fenced in yard to run in, and a super active family! I could work on a farm, or go hiking, or maybe even do some agility training!
.
.
They have really yummy treats that they give me for doing simple stuff like sitting down, or being calm… and they say I learn really fast and that I’m a very smart girl. My foster brother is deaf too. He’s a lot older than I am and he can get a little grumpy with me when he’s trying to relax and I fuss with him, but I do love to having another dog around. I don’t stay with my mom or my siblings for very long, so I have a lot to learn from my k9 companions.
.
.
My teeth still hurt so I chew on everything… and they say I can be a little rough and a little obsessive with my mouth…I’m still learning. I don’t always like to be told what to do, but I’ll come around. My foster mom is constantly redirecting me to toys and not fingers or ankles. I haven't quite figured that part out but I'm a work in progress yall.
.
.
I don’t see very well out of my right eye, but I see pretty good with my left eye… They’re doing “touch training” with me just in case my sight gets worse when I get older, and we’ve been working on sit, come, and stay. They say a vibration collar (NOT a shock collar) would be a great tool to train me with so my people can communicate with me from a distance, and maybe a GPS collar, too, in case I adventure too far off.
.
.
Breakfast lunch and dinner are my FAVORITE and I don’t mind being touched while I’m eating. They say I’m a really special girl, and I know they love me and want the best for me, but I sure would love to find my forever family while I’m still young… so I can have as much time with them as possible!
.
If you're up for a challenge and looking for a special pup then Zelda is your girl.
