My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Pluto is a sweet 4-year-old fawn, neutered male with natural ears. Pluto is a very large/tall Dane who was surrendered to MAGDRL as the owners were unable to care for him. He came to us already with knee issues that most likely were from an old injury that was never treated. While in foster care, his knee issues are being treated by medication, cold laser therapy, supplements, daily walks, and proper nutrition. Pluto is thriving and has improved in his short time with the foster family.

Pluto currently is living with a family of 4 that include 2 teenagers. Pluto is a gentle, sweet boy with his human foster family and other people, but he is unknown with younger/smaller children. He is a silly dog and loves his pink toy elephant. When he gets the zoomies or excited, he wiggles his butt in excitement. He is a very strong boy, and his foster family is working on boundaries and leash manners. Pluto is not crate trained and does not like the crate however he has shown to be trustworthy in the home when no one is there and will lay on the floor or on his dog bed. He will bark when his family leaves him at first but then settles down. He has not shown any food aggression and takes food easily from his foster parents. He will allow his foster parents to take his food bowl away without any problems. Pluto is also living with a smaller, older female Dane. Pluto had some issues with the female Dane within the first week of the foster family having him. The foster family has been working on this and Pluto has improved in his short time with the foster family. Both Pluto and his foster Dane “sister” can be in the same room together, sleep in the same room together, and they go on walks together without any problems. When left alone in the home, the dogs are kept separate and this has worked well for them.

Pluto is a sweet boy who just wants attention and love. He follows his foster parents around and wants to be always by someone’s side. He is a true velcro Dane. Pluto loves a car ride (though needs help getting in the car) and he loves his walks, but most of all he loves naps, he is a couch potato. Pluto needs a family that will continue to work on his boundaries and training and doesn’t mind a Dane with some mobility issues. He would do best in a home with few stairs and would love to be an only dog.
