My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Ricky Cocoa. Ricky is just over a year old. He was born December 2021 and is about 60 pounds. We believe Ricky is Labrador, Great Dane and maybe Weimaraner in his super mutt mix. His momma was only 35 pounds, and Ricky has far surpassed her in size, so daddy must have been big! Ricky is the mild mannered, well behaved, and smartest boy of his litter! Ricky is also the last of his litter with the rescue, his siblings all were more colorful, and Ricky is nearly all black, with just the one patch of white. He’s sweet, happy, and quiet. He is perfectly crate trained, and asks to go out. Ricky knows to sit to say please. He knows to get in his crate when asked. He does very very well on a leash, although some practice for long walks might be needed. He’s been good with cats and kids. You couldn’t ask for a better addition to your family.

Interested in becoming a forever home for Badger and Damascus? Fill out our online adoption application: http://www.friendswithfourpaws.org/adoption-form.html This is the first step in our process, and we don't go any further without an application.

Find more adoptable pets, news and information on Instagram @friendswithfourpaws or our Facebook page Friends with Four Paws.

We put a lot of time and energy into processing our adoptions to find our babies the best fit home for them and you. Please do not submit an application if you are not serious about adopting Badger and Damascus.
We are so excited to work with you to find you a new forever friend, and Badger and Damascus the perfect forever home, and appreciate you working with us.
For immediate consideration, please attach your application to the initial inquiry to help us expedite the process.

Our adoption fee is $525. This includes their spay/neuter surgery, full (age appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, and flea and tick prevention.

All of our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed.

Thank you in advance for your patience with our process and for making adoption YOUR option!

More about this rescue

Friends with Four Paws is a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization formed to rescue animals in Oklahoma from imminent death by having mobile adoption locations and providing foster care for dogs and cats. Founded in 1998, we have matched thousands of dogs and cats with their perfect, forever homes, where they otherwise would have been sent to the Rainbow Bridge.

Our program has drastically changed throughout time, as many do. We get our animals from local municipal shelters and from the general public. Once they are in our program, they go to a foster for several weeks, get all of their veterinary work done, and are listed for adoption.

Our transport program allows us to move dogs through our system fairly quickly, which means we are able to save many lives. We LOVE our adopters, fosters and volunteers and would not be able to make the difference we make without them.
