My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Sage! Sage was e-listed for fear at MCACC in February 2023. She was very timid when leaving the shelter, but settled in quickly once she felt safe. She has thrived on having a routine and continues to impress us with how far she has come out of her shell.

Once she’s comfortable, Sage is all play! She loves toys and other dogs. She has met a lot of other dogs of all ages and sizes in the time she has been with us now, and she just wants to play with all of them. Older dogs that want their space might not be the best for her, though she is not over-the-top rough in her play style like some huskies can be. She does not do well with cats.

Sage is a sweet and happy girl with a good amount of energy for a husky. She loves walks and does well on a leash, but she is also happy to relax with her people. She is inquisitive and very curious in a goofy, puppy-like way and does need continued training and work on basic puppy behaviors. She is crate trained and has had some minor puppy chewing issues, but when crated when a human isn't home she has done great.

Sage will try to counter-surf because she can be a little bit of an opportunist, and she thinks food is literally the best thing ever! She does best when her love of food is repurposed for training. She is super food-motivated and will sit and pose endlessly if you've got all the snacks. Her current foster has affectionately nicknamed her "meatball" for her love of food!

Sage could make herself at home with most loving families. She has done well with younger and older adults as well as kids. She needs a home with at least one other young, playful dog - though she would also do great with a whole pack too! She is pretty go with the flow. She might need a little time to adjust once going to a new home, but with a doggie friend or two, that process should be pretty smooth. Fill out an app to meet this smiley girl!
