If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website www.wiseanimalrescue.org/adoption-application!

Due to factors beyond our control, transport costs for our Puppy Mill survivors are much higher than what we have been accustomed to - costs for health certificates and medical + transport for each dog with no allowances for shared crates. With these factors taken into account, as well as the care needs for all of the animals in our adoption program, we need to request a donation above our normal request. Depending which dog you are applying for, we are looking for adopters to support our program with a donation in the range of $450-$850 from each adopter. $250 of that donation will be used toward the cost of transport. We appreciate the understanding of our potential adopters. Please keep this in mind prior to applying.

Name: Lyric

Breed: Standard Poodle

Weight: Approx 50 lbs

Age: 1.5 years old

Home Recommendation: Due to her difficult past, Lyric struggles when she is left home alone. She'd like a family who is home more often than not and one that is patient and will work with her to build her confidence around new people and new environments. Lyric's family should have another dog.

Personality: Lyric is a playful gal who would benefit from having a doggy sibling. She is a bit anxious and really blossoms around other dogs. She's the mayor of her doggy playgroup! Lyric enjoys playing fetch and enjoys being around people.

Kids: 13+ due to her initial shyness and size

Dogs: Lyric LOVES other dogs, especially playing with them! She should go to a home with another dog to help build her confidence and to feel safe when left alone.

Cats: Unknown, can cat test for an approved adopter

Crate Trained: Working on it!

House Trained: Working on it!

Leash Manners: Working on it!

Why did she come to WISE? lyric was rescued from a horrible puppy mill situation where she was used for breeding most of her life. When she was determined "unfit" to be used in their 'breeding program', they were going to euthanize her. WISE wasn't going to let that happen and saved this sweet gal!
