My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

His original name was Brutus, but we like to call him Buster or Sox! This fun, funny, playful, curious boy loves to learn and play. If he gets to know you, he is a good, good friend and once you are friends, you will be required to scratch his belly more than once a day.

He also likes long walks (probably hiking or running too), exploring the environment and zooming around when there's room to do it. If you really want to get on his good side, give him something to chase (a ball, a toy, a stuffed octopus...or you...the faster, the better!

If you're looking for a fun sport partner, he would love to try barn hunt, FAST CAT, agility and, of course, nosework. He is bright, active, fit, athletic and confident--exactly what you want in a sporting partner.

He enjoys a bit of peace and quiet too and would love a home with a yard where he could just sniff around and explore sometimes. He would be the perfect weekend warrior, ready for whatever adventures await, as long as it's with you!

Best Boy Brutus Buster Sox!

He originally came from a shelter in Illinois where he had been picked up as a stray. They noticed his great demeanor and sweet temperament, but despite these attractive qualities, he was frequently passed up by potential adopters. (Why, why, why? a question we ask ourselves all the time.) Luckily the shelter trainer also noticed his toy drive...which let him to us. Now that we know he's not the working dog material we need, we really want him to find a home to call his own.

One of our trainers is currently fostering him and she reports that he is a complete gentleman in her house. He is well-mannered, gets along with her other dog great and is a joy to have around...just sayin'!

When (not if!) you take him into your life, you can call him Buster or Sox too. In fact, he wouldn't mind if you changed his name to anything you like--as long as you whisper it into his big ears while giving him a nice scratch after a long hike.
