My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

NOTE: Poor Malakai! He's been adopted twice, but in both homes his four-legged brothers bullied this sweet-natured boy relentlessly. He's a lover, not a fighter -- and seeking a home where his sweet nature won't make him the object of a bully's attention!

Malakai’s Story: Malakai came us all the way from a shelter in Arkansas, where this dog was SO beloved and special that posts about him went all over the United States! He has been named in honor of a little boy who is a friend of our rescue who is currently battling cancer . . . The four-legged Malakai has beaten the odds and is getting out alive, and we know that the little boy he is named for is going to do likewise!

Name's Foster Mom Says: Malakai is a TOTAL doll. He is absolutely the sweetest dog I have EVER had the pleasure to foster – if I didn't have so many of my own I'd have already decided to just keep him! It’s going to be a battle getting him away from my room-mate as it is . . .he’s taken to her like a lost soul. He waited for her to come home last night (she works thirds) and it was absolutely adorable. He is sooooo sweet! He's already bonded with my “main three” – and usually they are something of an exclusive “club” that doesn’t accent new members! Though Malakai gets along great with the other dogs, he can also get a little jealous when it comes to attention -- I'm thinking he'd be very happy as a spoiled "only child".

I think he's got some Sammy in him. His fur is too plush for Siberian and his ears are a little rounded . . . plus his head shape is a little rounder than a Siberian’s. It’s a VERY handsome combination! He has one parti-eye, too . . . hope to have pictures that show that off very soon! He's not a real big fan of the crate but he did settle down eventually last night.

He is a total love. I want to adopt him SO badly . . . . but I promise to be good. He’s doing great! Last night was just his second night in the house, and the spent it in the bedroom with me. (It is a rarity to get out of the crate at night that quickly). But he's sooooooooooo good! I just can’t get over it! He crawled under the covers last night after I brought him up . . .his fur is so VERY soft and tickly to the touch I was laughing so hard that my room-mate came in to see what was going on. His tail was the only thing sticking out from under the covers! When he heard her voice, he wiggled around and stuck his head out from under the blanket and gave her this big goofy dog grin. I just cannot TELL you how cute he is!!! He’d better find a home fast or you will never get him away from us! J

This dog's adoption donation is $200. If you know how much it costs to give a new dog responsible vet care, you can easily see that this is quite a bargain! He has had a complete health exam, has already been neutered, is microchipped, has tested negative for heartworm, has been kept on heartworm and flea preventative, is fully vaccinated and free of parasites.
