My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

IN Olmsted Twp, OH
Hi! My name is Denver! I’m a 7 1/2 yr old Aussie boy who was originally found as a stray several years ago. ASF brought me in and I was adopted out to a great family where I had a mom and dad and an older fur sister. Unfortunately, my fur sister got very sick and went blind very quickly; so quickly that it really confused and upset me. Everything changed. I didn’t understand why she couldn’t play with me the way she used to, or run with me, or do any of the things we used to do together. I guess she was scared too, not being able to see anymore, but she adjusted better than I did. I started getting mean with her, until one day I crossed the line and mom made the difficult decision that I might be happier in another home where I had other fur siblings to play with me. So I came back to ASF.

I’ve been living with my new foster mom, her 3 Aussies and 4 cats now for a few weeks. It’s a fun and active place! Foster mom has taken me to her dog place and showed me agility and disc, but that doesn't interest me much.

My greatest joys are hanging with my foster mom or another dog. I really don’t like to be left alone. Foster mom was told I have crate anxiety, so at night I slept in a 4x4 pen. I can sleep loose too (I prefer to be on the bed with you) but my foster mom said there are too many dogs in the bed so I got stuck in the pen. (But I was right next to her.)

As for the cats; I don’t care for them but I don’t mind them either. They keep to themselves and I just ignore them (a proper introduction was done too so I knew they were there, that is important.) When I went to the dog place, I met people, older kids and other dogs. I like everyone. When I first came to my foster moms house, I tried to hump all of them for a week. (They didn’t like that and I soon figured out my place in the pack.)

I love to go for car rides with the wind blowing in my face. I love walks too; I sniff like all the time so we walk sort of slowly. I enjoy being brushed & groomed. I even lay down nicely when my foster mom Dremeled my nails. I love to lay on the couch and chill when I am done playing with my toys or chews. I am fascinated with sunlight and will watch the light on the walls: I might be a little obsessed with it, but when my foster mom calls me, I come. I’m a good boy, the sun’s just something for me to look at, not a big deal.

I really want my person and would love another easy going dog to be my friend. I also love toys! I love to tug too, and my foster mom said she’ll send one of her tugs with me. I take treats nicely and sit with others politely when waiting for treats. Are you my person or my family?? I’m hoping you’ll give me a home.

I weigh 45 pounds. I am neutered and UTD on my vaccines and on HW and flea/tick prevention. Olmsted Township, OH. All adoption fees are used to help other dogs just like me.
