My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet sweet Gus! He was saved from a kill shelter in Houston on the very day he was going to be euthanized. It was a close call. Many he was waiting in line with didn't make it. We grieve their loss yet are incredibly grateful for Gus is still with us. Gus's ears may be a little tattered, and his face may bear a few scars from mistreatment, but, he is truly an extraordinary boy. At the shelter, he was a volunteer favorite who would sleep in their arms like a baby when they took him outside. Their notes contain nothing but glowing words about Gus. " He is a gentle soul and a teddy bear" " He is literally putty in your hands the minute you spend time with him" " He is super calm and did great on his temperament test with a male and female who came up to him." " The entire time he was in the run he just wanted to be by my side and look at his surroundings and watch the birds tip-toe around." " He is a simple man who didn't even want my treats, only my company."
Gus is 5-6 years old and 57lbs, neutered, and potty trained, is UTD on all vaccination, and is successfully finishing up his heartworm treatment. Gus walks beautifully on a leash and has excellent inside and outside manners. He loves gently playing with other dogs. Gus is calm, low-key, and just a Zen chap. His only wishes to be well cared for and beloved by family members who will wholeheartedly and unconditionally love his family to the moon and back. Possibly even further. (Gus is that wonderful) Except... if you're a cat. Gus does not like cats. He says they stare at him which he finds arrogant, rude, and creepy.
The decision to make Gus yours is one that you will never regret, because everyone needs comfort, peace, and joy in their lives, And Gus is a living embodiment of all of them.
