My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hey my friends! My name is Lassie and I am a one-year-old sweet calico. I'm looking for a special human to love immensely, cuddle frequently, amuse occasionally (see the photo of me lounging on the couch) and be my forever best friend.

I am what you would call a "special needs" cat as I have to have a steroid gel prescription applied to the inner flap of one of my ears on Monday's, Wednesday's and Friday's. This medication suppresses regrowth of a non-malignant sore in my mouth. Since I do not need it daily, a six-month supply equates to under $10 a month. (My foster mom did the math, I am not good at using a calculator.)

While I may not be for everyone, I deeply believe that my forever human is out there ready to be showered with unconditional love and purrs. I will greet you every morning when you wake up. If you want to throw me over your shoulder and carry me around the house, I am happy with that too. My foster mommy says I have the most darling face and beautiful calico coat. In a house with only black cats, I definitely do stand out.

I get along with other cats as long as the other cat isn't a meanie. I have been around dogs in my previous life but I think I would be okay with a gentle giant. Oh, and I love kids. The more, the merrier!
