Lola’s owner died unexpectedly and no one in the family can take her in permanently. She has been in a very good, in-home boarding facility, along with her daughter who was just adopted yesterday. Lola‘s only issue is that she became anxious and protective of her daughter, especially around female dogs. She does much better with male dogs. She and her daughter have been together for 6 years, and as the daughter has gotten older the the protective anxiety has lessened. We feel strongly that with work and training she will become more comfortable around other female dogs. I agreed to foster her until we can find a home. In the meantime we will continue with obedience training and socialization. She was originally crate trained, doesn’t need it anymore, but will use it if needed. She visited my house for the first time yesterday and was very calm and well- behaved. She loves to snuggle, but didn’t jump up until invited. Outside, she didn’t run off when we started off-leash training.
