My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Name: Lola
Nicknames: Girlfriend. Dancing Queen. Baby Yoda. Potato [as in Couch].
Breed: Terrier mix
Age: ~ 6 years
Sex: Female
Weight: 15 lbs.
Before OMD: After a few Harry Houdini-style stints, adventures around town, and stealing the heart of a local ACO, Lola found herself in need of a fresh start! We obviously fell in love with this scruff and made her part of the pack.
Medical deets: We got her fully vetted, spayed, and had five teeth extracted - her teeth were rotted from the inside out due to what her doctor believes to be poor nutrition as a puppy
Energy level: Medium. Thrives on exploring, enjoys moderate exercise, and is a champion napper
Doppelganger: Baby Yoda. Someone slap a Jedi robe on this girl!
Betcha Can't: Find a couch or chair she doesn't like
Decibel Scale: Surprisingly, not terrier-esque. Lola is typically a calm & quiet girl, rarely singing the song of her people
What we love most: When she spins on her hind legs and lets out happy yips to welcome you home. How she is the perfect mix of chillaxin' and going on a grand adventure. She is perfectly adaptable to whatever you are looking for on a given day. Want to go for a hike or walk the beach? She's game! Ready to binge watch your fave new Netflix series that just dropped? Make a space on the couch for Lola, 'cause she is all in!
What she loves: Zooming around the yard, sunbathing, naps, and jumping in the car for a good adventure! She loves to sniff, check out the sights, go for car rides, and generally be a girl about town.
Affection level: Lola is sweet and affectionate, but won’t completely smother you.
What she knows: We think this direct quote from her foster says it all: “Honest answer? She has been so well behaved that we haven't actually asked her to do much in the way of obedience commands.”
Dogs: She loves a good canine companion, though they should be tolerant of her occasional sassy Terrier ways. Lola especially needs a little time to adjust to very large dogs (her 3 foster siblings are each 70+lbs) but ultimately loves having a buddy or two to curl up with or romp around the yard
Kids: Does not currently live with any, but we think she would do wonderfully with dog-savvy kiddos.
Cats: Dog-savvy cats are fine by her
House-training: 100% - total champ!
Crate-trained: Sure is, but she’s also content and respectful when having the run of the house for a few hours during the day or sleeping at the foot of your bed.
Bottom line: She’s loyal but can’t turn down an adventure! The key to her happiness includes on-leash adventures so that she doesn't feel the need to escape and go exploring on her own. Car rides, gentle hikes, walks around the neighborhood, a safe, fenced yard to get some fresh air and enjoy a nap in the sunshine

Lola is spayed, vaccinated, heartworm negative, and microchipped. She is available for adoption to residents of Connecticut and surrounding states. If you are interested in adopting, please complete an application from omdrescue.org
