My story

Sandy is a sweet heart of a pup. She is good on leash, working on potty training, She is one that loves to be petted on and with some training will make a wonderful pup. She would love a home where she can take adventures hiking and all the fun outside sports. She will make someone a wonderful addition to a family.

Visit our website to see our weekend Events here! Pup’s with the designated “meet me” next to their names are in CT and ready to attend adoption events. Please check with your adoption coordinator if you are interested in a specific dog prior to coming to an event, as a dog's availability to attend can change at any time. We can not guarantee approval on site at the events, so we recommend applying ahead of time. You can apply at the event, but the application process may not be able to be completed the same day. If you are not pre-approved, you are still welcome to come and meet pups at the event!

The adoption fee is $500 which includes spay/neuter, up to date vaccinations, flea/tick and heartworm preventatives, and the mandatory CT HB 5368 fee. This dog tested negative for heartworms.

If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at our Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05.

TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO www.cprdogs.com. If your application was successfully submitted you will get a confirmation. Please DO NOT USE the ADOPTAPET "CONTACT THIS RESCUE GROUP" form below or you may not hear from us as these often end up in spam or bouncing back.

After receipt of your application, an adoption counselor will then be in touch to answer your questions about this pup, discuss the adoption process and get the ball rolling! If you have not heard from one of our volunteers within 5 days of submitting your application, please email mollibo@gmail.com.

Why adoption is a great option

Sandy ~ meet me!, a Southbury Australian Kelpie/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Kelpie/Labrador Retriever for sale in Southbury, or seeking a Australian Kelpie/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Southbury.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Southbury already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Southbury breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Kelpie/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Australian Kelpie/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Southbury paves the way for another one to be saved.
