My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Shimar, who is easily one of the most outgoing and laid back cats at the shelter!

Shimar just passed his one year anniversary of being a resident at the shelter. He is a people pleaser and has tried very hard to capture the heart of a potential adopter. Whenever someone visits the cat side of the shelter he immediately will approach his condo door and paw at it to encourage visitors to pet him. Shimar is extremely social and loving-he adores anyone he meets! He also is a big fan of nice dogs and enjoys the company of other cats.

A sad reality that black cats face is that they are the least likely to be adopted and often get overlooked. We just do not understand why as black cats are terrific companions! Below are some great reasons to consider adopting a black cat!
1.) They are actually considered GOOD LUCK!
2.) They come from royalty.
3.) They have absolutely gorgeous eyes....just look at Shimar!
4.) When you adopt a black cat you have your very own mini panther!
5.) They have amazing personalities! Just meet Shimar and you will fall in love!
6.) By adopting a black at you are automatically a hero as black cats are the least likely to be adopted and usually spend longer times in shelters.

Shimar is an awesome cat who is very deserving of a loving forever home. He is 2 1/2 years old. As stated above, he loves dogs, cats and people of any age. Shimar loves to play but also loves to snuggle! Shimar is on a Urinary Care Diet which he flourishes on.

Interested in adopting sweet Shimar? Please stop by the shelter any day from 12-4pm to meet him. Adoption applications are located here at the shelter, on our website, or you can email us for one.
