My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Paco es muy guapo!

Hola amigos! My name is Paco and yes, I am the starboy here due to my handsome looks. I am a 2 year old, neutered male Husky mix, weighing about 38 lbs. I was wandering the Valle of Guadalupe, definitely not vino-tasting, and thankfully rescued by Los Adoptables and TAP. I have been in sunny San Diego tomando el sol and having a blast. It's not all fiesta, I am learning also! I am potty-trained and am progressing with leash training; with my furever family's support and positive reinforcement, will be there in no time!

My mama says that I am unbelievably loving! Just ask anyone! I have a huge heart in my medium-sized body and full of love. I need tummy scratches pretty often through the day, and my sad eyes will make you love me harder. I have no separation anxiety as of now and can stay alone when my family needs me. I am a curious guy, still young-ish and need supervision to not get naughty as I have the intelligence and true physical drive of the Husky breed. I need to go to a home with another dog, that is my size or larger. I tend to show some stalking behavior with smaller dogs, and would do best with dogs my own size, and no cats in the home. I will do best with teenagers and not younger kids since I am still excitable.

I am going to be a spectacular companion wherever I go! I would love a high energy home where I can get a lot of exercise, mental stimulation with puzzles and toys, and plenty of playtime with a dog companion. Are you a runner, avid hiker? Then I am your best companion. After which, I will take a nap in my crate. If you are ready for a sea of love in your life, we must meet up! My adoption fee is $300 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip. If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We prioritize local San Diego applicants. We do not provide transport of dogs to other states, and don't allow the dogs to fly in the cargo of the plane.
Our adoption process from start to finish, involves 3 standard forms, and 2 situational.
All potential applicants must be capable of providing their adopted pet with routine and emergency veterinary care (yearly health checks, keeping vaccinations current, heartworm/flea preventatives, and immediate care in the event the animal is sick or injured). They are required to license their pet, and keep an identification tag on their pet at all times.
All applicants must agree to a home check, and provide us with a veterinary reference, or personal references if you're a first-time pet owner. Our home checks are not to invade the privacy of the applicants, we do this to ensure the pet is going into a safe home. We do not discriminate against non-homeowners, or those living in apartments, condos, or otherwise.
Our adoption fees vary from $150-1000.
Applicants must agree in writing that if for any reason they are unable to keep or care for their pet, the pet will be surrendered back to our rescue and not re-homed, turned over to a shelter, pound, rescue, new owner, sold, etc.

More about this rescue

Overview
The Animal Pad is a nonprofit, all-breed dog rescue devoted to saving the lives of dogs facing euthanasia at high kill animal shelters and off the streets of Mexico. We rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home locally.

We are dedicated to animal advocacy, and educating dog owners on the importance of spaying and neutering their pets. We are a foster based rescue, and rely heavily on the kindness and generosity of the amazing people who make donations toward the rescue and care of the dogs we save.

We are always looking for adopters, fosters, donations, volunteers, etc.. Please let us know if you would like to get involved by contacting us at one of the email addresses found below.
