Mo von Mestlin is a beautiful 3 year-old Shepherd mix. This mid-sized boy is just as excited to go on long walks as he is to lay snuggled up in your lap. Mo loves attention and will soak up every ounce of affection you can give, especially ear scratches, he'll nudge your hand for more pets please. Friendly with everyone at the rescue, he seems eager to please. Mo is also great with dogs of all sizes and can even be with cats (he just might chase if a cat runs so needs to be a cat who stands its ground). He is housebroken and knows his sit, paw and down commands. Mo is super easy to walk, making him a pleasure to take out. An adventurer at heart, his schnoz likes to explore new smells. Mo dreams of a furrever home with an adult family where he can thrive as your affectionate and devoted companion, ideally with another playful pup or two. Based on our experience, Westside's current thinking is to usually match first-time shepherd owners with a mix versus a purebred shepherd. Mixes are "softer" and somewhat more malleable. Exceptions can be made, however, for first-time adopters who show the confidence and leadership tendencies that purebreds will respect and respond to. Counselors have to use good judgment in assessing the attributes of the adopter, as well as of the dog. If you have doubts, get a second opinion from Robin or another experienced counselor.
