SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS - Banks is a very sweet dog who is quiet, gentle and a joy to spend time with. He is somewhere between 10 and 15 years old, and other than needing a weekly bath for his flaky skin, he is an easy guy. He has a few old age lumps and bumps that our vet feels are nothing concerning, a tad of stiffness or arthritis and a love of long naps. Banks would love a quiet, predictable home to totter around behind his human in, and someone to allow him a warm lap from time to time. He would make a great companion to a senior with a secure home and yard, and we would love for him to spend his golden years being loved in a home - it's why we saved him from the shelter. We know nothing of his past but suspect that he was once someone's beloved pet. We hope he can have that experience again.
Our adoption process starts with your email to carerescue@aol.com or Adopt a Pet inquiry. After we receive it, we will email you our prescreening questionnaire. Your answers will help us determine that your home and lifestyle matches the needs of the dog and our adoption criteria. Once determined, we will set up a private meeting with you and the dog at a park near our private kennel just east of Richmond. After meeting the dog and determining that it matches your preferences for a pet, we will accept your application. A home visit by one of our trained volunteers is required for all adoptions, and we will speak with your vet to ensure that you are a responsible pet owner.
