Meet King
King is the perfect name for this young boy as he truly believes he is the center of the world! King wants to be in the mix. King came as a rescue from the streets so his history is like that of most rescue dogs - limited at best. What we know we have learned from his time with us.

King is like most adolescent male dogs - push the limits and see where it get you.
King would totally benefit from a home that has experience with GSD and what we know believe is the mix in king - a bit of Husky. King has found a wonderful outlet in play time with a female Belgian malinois. When King has his mind and body exercised regularly he does well.

With his size and "enthusiasm" we feel that older teenager would be a better fit for a home with kids. He will need a yard with play space and an active family that wants to make him a part of the action would be best for this young gun. He loves playing in the Kiddle pool, so we think a big pool where he can learn to swim would be PERFECT! Check out his video as this boy LOVES water and we promise he will bring you a big smile just seeing how happy go lucky he is!

Saving Paws is a registered 501c3 not for profit corporation. All personnel are volunteers and are not compensated for their time and expenses. Donations of food, supplies and dollars always appreciated and allow us to help more dogs.

Their adoption process

1.
Submit Application

In order to best match an adopter with a dog, we require all applicants to complete an application. Apps are only on file 6 months.

Approve Application

Our Adoption team review and do verifications of housing approval for renters, vet & personal referrences

3.
Interview

Our adoption team reviews your application, lifestyle, experience and help identify potential dogs to meet

4.
Meet the Pet

Our adoption team schedules family and any dogs in the home for a meet and greet

5.
Sign Adoption Contract

Once a dog is selected adopters sign their adoption agreement and pay their adoption fee. The the dog can go home

6.
Home Check

After at least 10 days we will come and visit the adopter and dog. If the home visit is approved then transfer of ownership & chip sent.

Additional adoption info

"Saving Paws" works individually with each potential adopter to assure a good match and successful placement. The specific adoption process can vary and includes:

* Telephone and or email consultation.
* "Meet & Greet" with selected animals. We request that all family members and pets be present.
* Adoption application and reference check.
* Home visit
* Completion of the adoption process.
* Any additional follow up or assistance required.

Adoption fees and donations offset the extremely high cost of veterinary care, food, boarding and numerous other expenses.

We are a primarily foster based rescue, so all dogs are shown by appointment only with approved adopters. We participate in a number of adoption events per year. Our events are published on our FACEBOOK page.

We are a 100% volunteer organization so we ask for patience in returning calls, emails and FB messages. Many work to juggle family, work and dogs of their own in addition to saving the lives of dogs in need. We are a German Shepherd and Belgian Malinois rescue. We do occasionally have another breed. We rely 100% on public donation for our operations. We welcome adopters - fosters- volunteers and donors to join us in saving lives

"Saving Paws" rescue specializes in German Shepherd Dogs and Belgian Malinois. These are the two primary breeds used in military and law enforcement service worldwide. We also partner with other rescues and can assist in locating your perfect pet.

Our adoptions have gone on become service dogs, search and rescue dogs, sport dogs, AKC title holders and of course cherished family pets and protectors.
