My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Boulder's DOB is 03/18/2019 and he's a black Pit Bull Terrier/Boxer mix with a white #7 on his chest. Boulder (known in his last home as Bobo) is a sweet dog who is still unsure and a little skittish as he adjusts to shelter life. His previous home was unable to afford the medical attention he needed when he arrived here.

According to his previous owner, Boulder is a very loyal inside dog who enjoys sleeping on the bed with his people, as well as going out for car rides and hunting trips. He is already housetrained, and while he has been growly toward other dogs, the home did have several cats that he loved to play with.

According to his previous home, Boulder loves to cuddle up, especially in someone's beard. They also said (and we can definitely attest to this) that his favorite thing in the world is squeaky toys. Boulder is afraid of water, and is also scared of thunderstorms. He can also be very easy to sneak up on, since he can't see out of his left eye. We think the ideal home for Boulder would be a farm, or a home with a large yard he can play in, or at the very least a home that can take him on adventures with them. He may seem reserved, but he really relaxes the minute he gets out of his shelter pen. We truly think he'd make a loyal, happy house pet! His Estimated D.O.B. is 03/18/2019.

The sanctuary is open to the public. We encourage you to bring along any potential fur-siblings to help pick out your new pet as well. We also hold monthly offsite adoptions at Petsmart and Petco stores in Springfield Missouri, Fayetteville & Rogers Arkansas, and at Orscheln's Farm & Home in Republic, MO. Please find us on Facebook to see where we're going next! (Schedules vary)
We don't always get a chance to check our emails throughout the day, so the quickest way to reach us is by giving us a call at 417-835-3647. Come out and meet your new best friend!

More about this shelter

We are a no-kill sanctuary for stray and abandoned dogs and cats, and for those left homeless by the death of their guardian. We provide an environment as homelike as possible with lots of loving care to our furry residents. It may take days or years, but we will always keep trying for all of the animals in our care. Volunteers and donations are always needed and welcome!
