My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MEET MINI!

FALL IN LOVE WITH MINI!

This beautiful shelter survivor is charming her foster mom and all who meet her!

Mini is the near-perfect package! Sweet, smart, a bit silly! Her favorite things are HUMANS, TOYS AND FOOD! Squeaker toys specifically. She loves car rides. She LOVES her walks and is excellent on the leash. She loves chilling and cuddling after her exercise and is great in the home. A dream to train, she already knows sit, come, wait, paw, bed (her current “place”), and is working on down, and sitting back up. She entertains with her silly bunny hop and expert "splooting" technique, and her snorts when figuring out her snuffling puzzles!

Mini's ideal home would be one that loves and cares for her of course; one committed to her for life! (we promised her that). A home that will give her daily walks and adventures. A fenced in yard would be great for extra playtime, though Mini does fine in an apartment. Mini is great with kids, but older kids (she can be mouthy). Probably do best as solo dog.

Her foster mom says about this special pup: ..." she is such a special little girl ...silly, happy, social butterfly, perfectly sized chunky peanut at 54lbs, with a perfectly squishy face and bunny ears."

Mini is utd on all shots and is spayed. She is approximately 3 yrs old and weighs 54 lbs.

More about this rescue

Rebound Hounds Res-Q believes that there’s a great home for every dog. How to make that happen is the real work of rescue. We’re committed to bringing dogs and guardians together who are right for each other. We do it by knowing the dog, and knowing the prospective guardian.

First, we know the dogs we place. We seek out temperament evaluations from ACC staff and ACC volunteers in the attempt to pair dogs with the right home. It’s not perfect, but it goes a long way toward getting a feel for who the dog should go to.

Next, we learn about the adopters. We look at lifestyle, energy level, experience, tolerances. It’s communicating about expectations and commitment, not just for the next few weeks when the dog comes into their life, but for life.

Last, we stay in touch. After the initial home visit, we’re available to offer help, support and advice. We welcome knowing how everyone is settling in. Pictures are great, an occasional email. Our job is to support the owner and dog throughout the process.

Shelter dogs are a unique challenge because they have pasts we often can’t know. What we do know is that once matched with the right guardian — with time, respect and patience — a shelter dog offers unparalleled love and gratitude every day, in every way, to the person who saved them. It is unlike any other relationship on earth.
