My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Allura is a very special girl near and dear to our hearts. She is a spunky, pocket sized cat with a playful spirit who loves to shower you in little kisses. She's earned the nickname "Chirp" for all the cute little noises she makes. She gets along great with cats, dogs and children. When we rescued Allura with her siblings almost a year ago we discovered at her first vet appointment that she had a significant heart murmur, a condition she was most likely born with. Now, with a lot of kittens these heart murmurs will resolve on their own. Allura's did not. We spoke to several other rescues who guided us that getting an echocardiogram, while may shed light on her specific heart condition, would ultimately lead down a rabbit hole of diagnostics with no real solution to Allura's broken heart. Open heart surgery is too expensive and dangerous for Tabby Nation to be able to consider it a legitimate solution in Allura's case. Yes, it is true that Allura's life expectancy may be shortened because of her heart condition, but she also may live a very full and happy life without needing any intervention. Cardiac cases in cats are just like that and you never know which end of it you're going to get. While she is happily residing with her foster family, we would love for this sweet girl with a heart too good for this world to have a shot at a forever home, no matter how long she has. If you're the type of person who has a heart big enough to embrace a broken hearted cat like Allura, please reach out to us so we can discuss the details of this special adoption.
