Meet Kane! This sweet boy is three years old (DOB 10/31/2019), and is believed to be an American Bulldog/American Staffordshire terrier mix. Kane is such a laid back gentle giant. All he wants to do is chill, sleep, and repeat. He’s become such a relaxed guy who just likes hanging out. When he first came to rescue, he was a bit of a wild child. But since decompressing from shelter life, he has shown that all he wants is to be loved by his people, and to catch some sunshine here and there. Honestly, who can blame him?
Kane is fully vetted, meaning he’s already up to date on vaccines, neutered, microchipped, and kept on monthly prevention. He is crate and house trained (although he does require a steel crate). And loves absolutely everyone he meets. He would do best in a home with kids over 12, as he is a big, strong boy who doesn’t quite understand how big he is. He’s great with other dogs, but does need a home without cats. This boy is a lounger, so a fenced in yard is preferred, but is not a deal breaker. He just likes to lay outside in the sun on the patio.
Since being in his foster home, Kane has come SUCH a long way with his training! He now knows sit, paw, watch me, stay, come, and has greatly improved his leash manners. And if this list of commands aren’t enough, he’s INCREDIBLY treat motivated, so teaching him more is a breeze!
When applying keep in mind that a home PVA will be verified, references will be called, vet checks will be done, all dogs in home MUST be spayed/neutered, UTD on vaccines, etc., and a home visit will be conducted. Applicants will be chosen in Kane’s best interest. It will not be on a first come first serve basis. Applicants for Kane MUST have breed experience and dog savvy.
Interested in making Kane part of your forever family? You can apply to adopt through our website at www.lexpitcrew.org/adopt! His adoption fee is $175.
You can also support Kane through his Amazon wish list! Items from his wish list will not only help him continue to thrive in his foster home, but will follow him to his forever home to ensure his transition is as smooth as possible. You can find his wish list here: https://www.amazon.com/registries/gl/guest-view/292BJ7DA9CVLE

More about this rescue
Lexington Pit Crew desires to inform and educate people about breeds that so many people view as vicious and dangerous. Lexington Pit Crew wants to help build a positive reputation for the dogs that would otherwise be deemed unadoptable simply based on their breed. Over the course of the last 8 years, LPC has saved hundreds of dogs. This is a team effort. A team made up of volunteers. Volunteers who have families, jobs that actually pay them, and other responsibilitiess that require their time. They volunteer because it’s a passion for them. They desire to give their time because they value the lives of the defenseless animals we fight for each day.
