Rufus is an adorable wiry terrier, estimated to be 2-3 years old, weighing a very compact 24 lbs!
He’s very cute, enthusiastic, and overall a very happy boy! Rufus looks a little like a Cairn Terrier but…not really! We did a google search with his photo, to match it to a breed, and the ap suggests that Rufus is actually a Jagdterrier, a rare German breed who is an avid little hunting dog.
True to his hunting dog heritage, Rufus is very alert and observant, always looking for adventure. He’s very smart and a quick learner. Rufus joined us from downstate; it appeared that he experienced neglect and possible homelessness most of his life, prior to joining BAARK.
Rufus is enjoying his foster home and the attention he is receiving. He is very eager to learn and to please his foster mom. Rufus is working with a trainer and has made a lot of progress. He takes daily walks and when the weather is not particularly nice, gets his exercise on a treadmill purchased just for him!!
He enjoys running and playing, and also car rides. An occasional nap is ok too!! Rufus is very eager to find a family to call his own; any family lucky enough to make him theirs, sure has added a very precious loving boy to their lives.
Rufus does fine with other dogs, particularly dogs larger than he is, and who are submissive. He definitely is not a friend to cats…NO cats!!
Rufus is fully vetted, up to date on all vaccinations, heartworm tested and on year-round prevention, neutered and microchipped.
