Milo is experiencing all the firsts of being in a home as he has been retired from a breeder. His first sleeps in his own bed, his first yard, his first couch & TV. It has all been a bit overwhelming, but he is navigating each new challenge with all the bravery he can muster.
We received this update from Milo’s foster mom:
“Milo is a sweet boy. He needs lots of time, love, patience & understanding. Humans and noise scare him. If he sees me coming, he runs the other way. However, he loves sleeping and snuggling with Dyson (Yorkie also available fore adoption) & me in the big bed. He goes outside to do his business but does not tell you when he needs out. When I carry Dyson in from outside, Milo usually follows, but don't stop or make eye contact. If the door is left open & you are not watching, he will wander inside. Not leash trained yet, and you would have to catch him to put it on. He is a challenge. That being said, I love him so much!”
Milo came from a commercial breeder, he is still learning to be social, so he is hesitant with new people. A home with older children/teens in the home should be fine. We find when there is canine companionship, dogs learn much faster. Milo will need a patient family who understands that time & space will be of the essence in allowing him to come out of his shell.
He needs a very secure physically fenced yard, and if it is a small area, even better. It is kinda scary out there in a big open yard! Please be prepared to share photos of your fence & double check it for small holes. A tiny 7lb dog can get through some very small spaces especially when they are very scared and timid like Milo.
If you are looking for a little guy to just hang out with you & experience this world with you, Milo is your guy. We know the perfect family is out there for him!
