Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Playful & Energetic are the 2 words that describe Miss Betsie best!
This sweet ~ 2 yo., < 40 lbs. girl is all about having fun. She loves to play and engage with her person, go for walks, or lay next to them and chew a bone. Betsie is funny and quirky, talks a lot, and has a big personality. She makes us smile every day.
Betsie has a prey drive and loves to chase, so someone that's excited to fulfill her drive in the form of play is a must. Even though she loves to chase, Betsie was able to be around our chickens with no problem and we played with her right beside them. Betsie was also cat tested and did well with them. We think she could live with dog savvy cats who do not run, and in a home where clear boundaries are established.
Betsie must go to an active home, someone who loves to hike, bike, walk, etc. If you know the breed, you know they're not couch potatoes. Betsie is smart and has learned a lot while with us but she needs someone who is consistent with their expectations of her so she can succeed.
Betsie has done well with other large dogs with slower introductions. She now goes on walks with many of our other well-behaved and calm dogs. Should she go to a home with another dog, the dog should be respectful of her space and be on the calm and confident side.
Betsie is crate, leash, and potty trained, knows basic obedience and has learned the "place" command. She'll need an adopter who is eager to continue her training so she'll be her best self. She can go to a home with respectful children 12 and up. No apartments for this girl. She would love a nice yard to romp around in and play.
