Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Jack is ready to find his forever home! 🐾🩵
Two weeks ago today (on April 29) Jack embarked on his freedom ride (thanks to many amazing volunteers whom I shall tag in the comments!!) from a very overcrowded shelter in Hall County, GA to our home. He was recovering from his neuter surgery and had a pretty nasty upper respiratory infection, so we have given him all the time he needed to heal and feel better. He has accomplished just that and his sweet personality is really shining through!
In the two weeks we have had him, Jack has conquered his fear of stairs, has learned that crates are a cozy private den once semi-reluctantly lured into one, is learning to "sit" and to wait until the human walks out a door before he does (on a leash, of course), and is ever so slowly learning what dog toys are. Everything inside a house seems new to him, which leads us to believe he lived outside his entire life and despite his outdoor lifestyle, he does an amazing job keeping his white coat clean. Jack is still working on housebreaking, but he's a super quick learner and with frequent potty breaks, he will be fully house trained in no time!
Jack seems to truly love all people, including men and older kids (we have not tested him with kids younger than 5 nor any small animals) and enjoys the company of other dogs, but likely prefers a canine companion that matches his energy level, which is happy to romp and play, but not for long. He thoroughly enjoys his daily walks through the neighborhood, but a secure leash is a must anytime a small critter is near! He rides really well in a car, so he'd make a great road trip partner!
Jack is approximately 4 years old and 48 pounds (though he can stand to gain a few pounds) and while he's way past the crazy unpredictable puppy stage, he has just enough husky mischief to keep you on your toes. Unlike any husky we have ever known, he prefers to be right beside a person at all times, which is both endearing and distracting since it's impossible to get anything done while stroking that sweet little face of his.
